If you click on a Contact or Lead's email address in PipelineDeals, we simply launch your default email client such as Outlook, Gmail etc. We populate the Contact's email address and also BCC your username@pipelinedeals.com
These emails will be automatically associated with the correct Contact/Lead profile and even append attach email documents. This gives you the ability to track email communications and correspondence for any Lead, Contact or Deal.
Please check the following to ensure this feature is working correctly:
1) Review your FROM email address and ensure you are using the email address that you registered with on PipelineDeals. This can be found in the My Settings page. You can register up to three email accounts you send messages from.
2) Ensure that you are BCC / Forwarding to the correct email address. Your special BCC address is your username@pipelinedeals.com.
3) Note: Emails only display in the Inbox on the home page if you exclusively email inbox@pipelinedeals.com
Your emails will automatically associate to your records, please check the deals page and / or the contact profile page to see if the email has been captured.
4) Lastly, emails take several minutes to arrive and process. Generally emails will arrive at PipelineDeals within 15 minutes of being sent in... For a video tutorial of these features please click the following link:

When I forward an email or bcc: it to using my pipeline deals email it shows up as a NOTE and I can not for the life of me figure out how to assign or transfer. Can someone help? thanks

Hi,
When you forward or bcc your username@pipelinedeals.com a copy of the correspondence should automatically become associated to the Lead or Contact you were emailing. The email will display in the Notes for a Lead or Contact.
Can you clarify what you are trying to do when you say "assign or transfer"? I'm looking forward to getting this working as you expect :)

Thanks.-
Hi Kim,
I took a quick peek and I think it's working for you. I'll send you an email with an example from your account.

When I clic to contact a lead, gmail opens up and pipelinedeals populates the to: field for me, but the BCC field is blank.
I recently switched to google apps and I am using the email they provide, gmail for my organization. When I had Outlook and I clicked on a contacts email in pipeline deals, an outlook email opened up with all the fields populated. The same is not happening with google apps, the to: field gets populated, but the BCC: field doesn't.
Pipeline Deals is not capable of doing this with google apps? we need to put the bcc in manually so we can get the email registered with pipeline deals right?
Please let me know.
Thanks!-
Hi William,
You may need to install the Google Notifier/Toolbar for this to work correctly.
http://toolbar.google.com/toolbar/gma...
Let us know if this helps!
As a Google Apps customer you may need to have your admin download a special Domain Specific Notifier. There are instructions on this page:

Thank you Nic I did that but the instructions provided are for windows users, I am working on a MAC. If you are working on a MAC OS Pipeline deals does not populate the bbc contact for you right?
let me know
Thanks!

I'd be really interested to know the outcome of this too as we are just considering moving from outlook/ rackspace to web based/gmail. W use both macs and windows, therefore the bcc email feature would be useful to know.

1Hi William and Jezza,
I found two articles in the Gmail Support Forums that discuss this Mac specific issue. I added a comment to one of them a while ago but future comments were closed and no resolution was published. It appears this is a documented limitation of the Google Toolbar for Macs.
I'm subscribed to updates on both topics so when Google fixes this issue I'll be able to circle back around here. If possible, it would be very helpful to add a comment to give the topic some traction in the Google Forum.

For the time being, the BCC may need to be manually filled out when composing a new message.

Once a contact(s) are converted from a Lead to a Deal, the emails are still attached to the contact. You have to manually attach the emails to a Deal... is there another way or something I'm missing?

When I click on an email address in a record, Outlook pops up. How do I change it so that Gmail pops up?

Nic,
We are still having probs with my account when sending to username@pipelinedeals.com - it works with some of our users, but not others. We now use Gmail having switched from Outlook (Rackspace email)
Any help would be appreciated.
J-
J - Are the email addresses registered within the user settings for each user? In order for the BCC'd username@pipelinedeals.com to work, the sending address needs to be listed under personal info or user inbox with multiple email accounts. If this is not the case, please let us know so we can look into it further.
Thanks,
Kris @ PipelineDeals -

I totally get how this works HOWEVER the manual process is janky and unscalable.
please make a gmail plugin so we can see pipelinedeals information right in gmail, and futhermore, make a way to automate this process ( you read from gmail for example ) so that i don't have to continually bug my staff to make sure to bcc their address. it just will not scale. -

If you install Tampermonkey for Chrome or Greasemonkey for Firefox there is a BCC script you can setup to automatically fill in your BCC every time you send or reply to an email.
Works automatically and seamlessly-
Thanks for sharing this idea Bob! It's a great suggestion for anyone who uses web based email clients.

We plan to extend the Google Apps email gadget to all Gmail customers as soon as Google's programming tools / APIs support it.

Nic - we have two different sales processes in our company and therefore have two different pipeline accounts to track these activities.
Issue: I am manage both efforts and therefore need to send notes to both accounts, but using the same "from" email address. Pipeline will only let me associate my email address with one account.
What do I do? I love the bcc feature and would hate to lose if for one of our accounts?-
If you use Google mail you can add the "+" and something after it to create the appearance of different email accounts but from the same email.
For instance if you were bob@gmail.com you could also use bob+pipeline@gmail.com for the second account.
Gmail sees both accounts as the same account so on one pipeline account use bob@gmail.com and the other use bob+pipeline@gmail account and they will go back to the single Gmail email account.
If you're not on Gmail setup a forwarder with your domain company so another email will redirect to your email account and now you can have two Pipeline accounts.
I hope this helps.

When I send an email to a client I put in a bcc to my piplinedeals address and by that I get a note on that person.
However if I only forward something to pipline deals it does not get through. My mailbox remains empty, where I think it should appear.
What to do?

I cannot find my forwarded message.-
Thank you for directing me to this thread of answers. I had however actually read through this twice already, and according to my perception I do follow the instructions here. However the problem is that it does not work to forward. My bcc emails all get through very well, but when I forward it does not work.
Please can you look at my account or check where my forwarded messages go?

Hi Leif,
Forwarding emails to your username@pipelinedeals.com that came from People you have listed in your PipelineDeals account should automatically associate the email as a Note on the Person's record.
One thing to check on is to ensure that all your email addresses are registered to your username. Click on the Settings menu >> Profile >> User Inbox with Multiple Email Addresses.
If you're still having trouble give us a call at 866.702.7303 and we'll set up a simulation in your account to test it out.
Sincerely,
-Nic -
